Led by co-choreographer and co-artistic director David Albert-Toth, Precision + Play is a masterclass that introduces professional dancers to the physical and compositional practices underpinning LABOUR.
Through a guided warm-up and creative exercises developed with Emily Gualtieri, the class explores groove, endurance, unruliness, and collective attention as choreographic tools. Positioned between mastery and mess, the session invites dancers into a rigorous yet open practice that values togetherness, precision, play, and embodied intelligence.

Cost: $25 +HST (Students $20 +HST)
This masterclass is recommended for university students and professional dancers.
Participants are encouraged to bring socks, shoes, kneepads, notebooks and pencils / pens.

LABOUR is a creation that embraces a minimalist and repetitive physicality. Raw, sweaty, visceral, and absurd, it rejects aesthetic politeness and imagines a shared power, both intimate and collective, rooted in a plurality of femme perspectives. The piece puts at the forefront womxn’s labour and the radical forces that build, sustain, reimagine and transform. Through unstable and yet simple rhythms, it turns the body into a site of metamorphosis, confronting today’s fragmented realities with gestures of resistance, care, and collective, celebratory force.
