About Propeller Dance
Since 2007, Propeller Dance has been at the vanguard of Canadian dance as an integrated contemporary dance company showcasing the power and beauty of diverse bodies and minds. We are both a professional performing company and dance training organization.
Shara Weaver is co-founder of Propeller Dance with Renata Soutter. A former student of the National Ballet School, Shara began widening her perceptions of what dance can be by dancing with artists with disabilities and dancers in West Africa. Her works with Propeller Dance include a mental health themed work Frame of Mind, Circuit (Propeller’s new dance film), Deliverables and Ebb and Flow. She has studied integrated dance and disability arts with Alito Alessi (USA), Lindsay Eales of Cripsie (AB), Corpuscule Danse (QC), MomoDance Theatre (AB), Miriam Rother (Israel) and Jurg Koch (UK).
Frank Hull is a Toronto-based professional artist who has distinguished himself as one of Canada’s most prominent power wheelchair choreographers and dancers. His most recent work includes contributing a commissioned digital narrative, OCCUPY THIS, to Stage Left Production’s national co-creation, HIGH ART: DRUGS, DISABILITY AND DASTARDLY DEEDS. He’s now expanding his performance repertoire into physical theatre, in Stage Left’s QueerCrip production, HOMO/EROTIC and Le Crip Blu.:
Propeller Dance will also be performing in Toronto on March 13-14, 2020 at the Fleck Dance Theatre. Performance details and ticketing information available here.
