Holla Jazz, Dances for Trane
An evening of dance works with live reinterpretations of music by John Coltrane, choreographed by Natasha Powell. The performance explores key elements of jazz dancing – propulsive rhythms and improvisation – while considering the historical significance of the movement and music, in a modern context.
Student Matinee is suitable for students in grades 7 -12. Teachers will receive a Study Guide consisting of contextual information and a variety of cross-curricular classroom activities. Tickets are $15.00 for students and FREE for teachers. Performance is from 12:30pm-1:30pm and post-performance chat with the artists from 1:30pm-1:45pm. Tickets?
