SaMel Tanz: Hip Hop Fusion

Option A : Repertory Class  Learn choreography from SaMel Tanz's new work CHAMPIONESS. A powerful and dynamic class that fuses hip hop, contemporary, and salsa movement.

Option B: Hip Hop Class Explore the foundations of hip hop and classic party grooves! Students will participate in exploratory activities, learn choreography, and wrap up with a studio cypher.

Diana Lopez Soto: Breath & Body

Diana Lopez Soto's workshop is an exploration of the body, breath, and authentic movement. How do your experiences and stories shape your movement choices? What is the relationship between your body, space, and the objects that surround you? The workshop will include sharing stories and collaborative movement games.

Neetika Sharma: Kathak

In Neetika Sharma's kathak workshop, participants will explore the fundamentals of the dance form. Expressive gestures known as mudras are introduced to convey emotions and narratives. Subtle wrist movements called hasta-pranas are practiced for precision and grace. Basic footwork known as tatkar is taught, emphasizing rhythmic patterns and the importance of ghungroos (bells tied around each ankle). The workshop will offer beginners a solid base before advancing to more complex choreography.

Lady C: Popping, Locking, & House

Caroline 'Lady C' Fraser teaches a street dance workshop including popping, locking, and house. Lady C will focus on the foundation and technique of these dance forms based on grooves and the connection to music.
